The Greehey Children’s Cancer Research Institute (Greehey CCRI) at the UT Health Science Center – San Antonio is looking for an outstanding postdoctoral fellow to work in the laboratory of Dr. Peter J. Houghton.
We are seeking a motivated, a creative postdoctoral fellow to work on childhood brain cancer as part of an NCI supported R01 award. The candidate will be expected to participate in the ongoing efforts within the laboratory group to identify novel therapeutic approaches that exploit BRAF aberrations in childhood brain cancers and the consequences of these alterations. It is expected that the candidate will work with childhood glioma cell lines and intracranial mouse tumor models.
The candidate must have a PhD, DVM or MD in a relevant field preferably with less than three years of postdoctoral experience. Applicants should have excellent communication skills, and ability to conduct research independently. The optimal candidate would have experience using contemporary molecular biology techniques including construction of viral vectors, DNA and RNA isolation, immunoblotting, ChIP, RNA interference, and ability to implement a variety of assays as needed. Salary is commensurate with experience and accomplishments.
