The Greehey Children’s Cancer Research Institute (Greehey CCRI) at the UT Health Science Center – San Antonio is looking for an outstanding postdoctoral fellow to work in the laboratory of Dr. Peter J. Houghton.
We are seeking a motivated, creative postdoctoral fellows to work on signaling pathway crosstalk as part of an NCI supported Program Project Grant (P01). The candidate will be expected to participate in the ongoing efforts within the P01 group to identify how childhood sarcoma cells circumvent inhibition of insulin and insulin-like growth factor receptors, how receptor signaling is altered by inhibitors and the consequences of these alterations. It is expected that the candidate will work with childhood sarcoma cell lines and mouse tumor models.
The candidate must have a PhD, DVM or MD in a relevant field preferably with less than three years of postdoctoral experience. Applicants should have excellent communication skills, and ability to conduct research independently. The ideal candidate would have experience using contemporary molecular biology techniques including construction of viral vectors, DNA and RNA isolation, immunoblotting blotting, RNA interference, and ability to implement a variety of assays as needed. Salary is commensurate with experience and accomplishments.
