Hematologic Malignancies

Aligned with our core research in molecular oncogenesis, we plan to develop a component of a larger trans-disciplinary program focused on hematologic malignancies at the Greehey Children’s Cancer Research Institute. Given that leukemias and lymphomas represent 40% of childhood cancers, this targeted basic research initiative is both timely and necessary. Additionally, the opportunity to collaborate with the Departments of Medicine and Pathology, the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center, and the Texas Transplant Institute to build a robust team of researchers makes this effort particularly compelling. This collaborative approach has the potential to establish a comprehensive program within the Cancer Center.
