Shan Qi (Gupta Lab) Receives Hibbs Award for Research Execellence

Gupta & Qi, Hibbs AwardShan Qi, a 3rd year PhD student in Dr. Yogesh Gupta’s laboratory at Greehey CCRI, received the prestigious Hibbs Award “for Research Excellence is a major award given annually to recognize exemplary achievement and research excellence to a student enrolled in Biomedical Mechanisms of Medicine (BMM).”

The Hibbs prize was established by a generous endowment from Edwin B. Hibbs, Jr., M.D. Ph.D., and Elva A. Hibbs.  It recognizes students in the BMM discipline based on their research.  It encourages the development of highly quantitative methods and rigorous testing in research.

The Hibbs award is a testament to Shan’s passion, commitment to structure-based drug development, and excellence in biomedical research relevant to human diseases.
