UT Health SA Newsroom: Health Science Center, UTSA gain $4.6 million for cancer research
The Center for Innovative Drug Discovery (CIDD), a joint program of the UT Health Science Center San Antonio and The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), is receiving a $4,598,728 grant from the Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT). The grant, announced Aug. 17, will support CIDD research to design more-effective cancer drugs through small-molecule drug discovery.
Since 2004, UT Health San Antonio, Greehey Children’s Cancer Research Institute’s (Greehey CCRI) mission has been to advance scientific knowledge relevant to childhood cancer, contribute to understanding its causes, and accelerate the translation of knowledge into novel therapies. Greehey CCRI strives to have a national and global impact on childhood cancer by discovering, developing, and disseminating new scientific knowledge.
